A seed cannot stay a seed.

In The Sprouts, Flora retells four tales — stories of the heart's hard lessons after grace takes hold: the bondage of desires we cannot quench, the temptation to settle where the Lord has not asked us to settle, the rivalry that measures our worth by another's, and the self-sufficiency that builds armor where the Spirit longs to clothe.

These are stories of putting off the old and putting on the new. Of trading one's own strength for Another's. Of the moment a sprout first reaches for the light.

Though gathered here as the "sprout" stage, these struggles and graces visit believers in many seasons — for the Lord teaches each of us in the order He knows is best.
